WELCOME ... ONE AND ALL
It’s happened to all of us at one time or another ... we move. We move to a different house, a different town, our job takes us to the other side of the country. Sometimes it's scary, but mostly it’s time consuming. Trying to get the kids in their new school, finding a dentist AND finding the new favorite place to eat out. Most of these people are just looking for someone to extend their hand and say "Hi. Welcome to the neighborhood."

You need to be proactive and take that first step. Let them know that your IHOP store exists and you'd love to have them come to your store and have wonderful food and great service.

There are several ways to contact new people who have moved into your area ...

Welcome Wagon: Welcome Wagon is always looking for items to put in their “goodie basket” to give to these new people. And if your town doesn’t have a Welcome Wagon there is usually an independent version.

Chamber of Commerce: Although the Chamber is geared toward business most movers contact them in advance to find out what services and amenities are available.

List Providers: There are companies that specialize in gathering the names of the new people that have moved into the area.

The more you do in extending your hand in welcome, the more loyal customers these people will become. And a repeat customer is always the best customer.

CALENDAR
How can the upcoming holidays affect you? How can you bounce off them to bring customers into your store?

National Boss Day: Drop coupons off to the secretaries in the offices in your area to give their boss a lunch at half price when they buy an entree at regular price.

Halloween: Have a large plastic pumpkin with wrapped treats for the kids. Let them pick one on their way out of your store.
